Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF) a leading international NGO that contributes to social development by providing life-changing education, nourishment and healing to vulnerable children from some of Cambodia’s most destitute communities with its vision to transform them into tomorrow’s leaders. This well respected NGO currently cares for more than 2,400 students and 10,000 people annually, helping entire families and communities in crisis through a significant array of programs and initiatives.
CCF operates in Cambodia with strong support and fundraising from businesses in the USA, Australia, UK, and Hong Kong. It has grown rapidly since its inception. To support the development, CCF is currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position below.
- Library Assistant
- Assist with the implementation of intensive literacy program at Junior School such as facilitating student project work, and outreach to community to borrow learning aids for students to use at home
- Direct the daily operation of the library to ensure that library users are using all learning resources effectively.
- Assist the library supervisor in creating ideas for stimulating children to read
- Perform public service duties including: providing circulation services, interlibrary loan service, assisting teachers and students with the use of library resources and equipment
- Make the library attractive and accessible to all children, teachers, students, staff including displays or by any means
- Prepare a monthly library report related to library and information services
- Plan and conduct (preschool) story times, etc
- Perform cataloguing of print, audio-visual and electronic resources
- Manage a booking schedule for use of library
- Answer reference questions
- Perform cataloguing of print, audio-visual and electronic resources
- Organize resources for use in classrooms as requested by teachers
- Other tasks assigned by Supervisor.
- Visibly ethical and able to demonstrate CCF values in day-to-day work.
- At least one-year experience with related field
- A good knowledge of children’s books and literature
- Ability to work well with children
- Be able to use English language is an advantage
- Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel, internet and Email)
- Be honest and trustworthy, Patient, respectful and helpful
- Take responsibility, flexible and committed
- High compassion and commitment to work with community people and poor children
