Job Description
We are looking for qualified candidate to fill for the position below.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate with the Provincial Offices of Education, District Offices of Education, and School Health focal points to organise teacher trainings.
- Liaise regularly with government partners to support program implementation and provide basic technical assistance and advice on rabies education where necessary with support from the wider team.
- Support the planning and logistics for programme implementation, including preparing materials, equipment, and travel arrangements for trainings and school visits.
- Deliver top-level training alongside the Education and Project Coordinator on rabies control and education to government, academic, and community organizations
- Assist in the development, translation and improvement of rabies education materials (e.g., presentations, lesson plans, posters, videos, and activity guides).
- Collaborate with NGO partners and community organisations to plan and deliver rabies education activities in communities.
- Support monitoring and evaluation of rabies education activities, including:
- Attend field monitoring visits alongside government partners and/or NGO partners
- Collecting and entering data via smartphone apps or other tools.
- Taking photos and short summaries from activities where appropriate.
- Providing feedback to improve training content and delivery.
- Providing technical support to government officers who collect data through a smartphone app, including verifying and extracting data from the app and producing data
- Assist in producing clear written monthly reports of activities (including key achievements, challenges, and recommendations) for submission to the project supervisor.
- Participate in internal team meetings, planning sessions, and trainings to support continuous improvement of the programme.
- Participate in the external meetings with government and local NGOs and assist in producing a meeting minute.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as requested by the Mission Rabies Cambodia Country Manager or Education and Project Coordinator to support successful implementation of the project.
- Work based in Phnom Penh, with frequent travels to other provinces.
Job Requirements
Languages:
- Khmer - Fluent
- English - Fluent
- Experience in education for 3 years
- Fluent in Khmer and English language with the ability to translate texts from English to Khmer and from Khmer to English
- Competent technology skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- An understanding of the Cambodian education system
- Previous work experience with schools in Cambodia or the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) is considered an asset
- Demonstration of organisational and self-management ability
- Enthusiasm for education and animal welfare
- No criminal record and ability to obtain a police record check within the first month of employment
- No previous employment termination for disciplinary behaviour or bad job performance
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Be able to work independently and with time constraints.
- Be able to address issues happening during project implementation
