- School Librarian
- Library Management:
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date collection of print, digital, and multimedia resources.
- Catalog, classify, and manage the inventory of library materials.
- Oversee library operations, including budgeting, equipment maintenance, and record-keeping.
- Student Engagement:
- Promote a culture of reading by recommending books and organizing events like book clubs and reading challenges.
- Assist students in developing research and information literacy skills.
- Provide guidance on using library resources and technologies effectively.
- Technology Integration
- Manage digital resources, including e-books, databases, and educational software.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to enhance library services.
- Support students in using library-related technologies and platforms
- Library Environment:
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for all students.
- Organize and display materials to encourage exploration and discovery.
- Enforce library policies and maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Professional Development and Collaboration:
- Stay informed about trends in education, literacy, and library sciences.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience working in a school or library setting is preferred.
- Passion for literacy and education.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
