Job Description
The Cambodia Mango Development Federation (CMDF) is a non-profit organization established to unite and strengthen Cambodia’s mango subsector. CMDF supports mango growers, associations, processors, traders, and exporters to enhance production quality, comply with international market standards, and promote Cambodia’s mango brand globally.
CMDF plays a central role in sector coordination, policy advocacy, market promotion, capacity building, and fostering global competitiveness.
We are looking for a qualified candidate to fulfill the position below:
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Lead the formulation and execution of CMDF’s strategic plans, annual work plans, and mango subsector development roadmap.
- Translate Board decisions into clear actions, programs, and operational policies.
- Provide periodic updates, recommendations, and technical advice to the Board.
- Ensure good governance, transparency, and internal compliance within CMDF.
- Sector Coordination, Representation & Partnerships
- Actively communicate and build strong relationships with government ministries (MoAFF, MoC, MISTI, MoEF CDC, etc.), NGOs, development partners, private sector alliances, and international organizations.
- Represent CMDF in national and international meetings, policy dialogues, and sector forums.
- Associate, collaborate, and sign MoUs with agriculture associations, federations, universities, private companies, and relevant institutions for joint initiatives and sector development.
- Facilitate strong coordination among mango growers, associations, processors, traders, exporters, and service providers.
- Advocate for policy improvements, industry incentives, and enabling trade conditions for the mango sector.
- Market Promotion, Branding & Trade Development
- Join regional and global agriculture/mango associations, federations, councils, or alliances to promote Cambodia’s mango industry internationally.
- Represent CMDF in national and international exhibitions, trade fairs, business forums, and investment events to attract buyers and investors.
- Promote Cambodia Mango brand identity and market reputation in key export destinations.
- Support members to meet export standards, certification requirements, and global buyer expectations.
- Develop market intelligence resources including price updates, buyer requirements, and trade trend analysis.
- Member Services, Capacity Development & Value Chain Support
- Coordinate and facilitate members’ access to markets, financial services, investors, and key value chain partners.
- Provide or coordinate training on GAP standards, production technology, processing, post-harvest practices, and export compliance.
- Develop member services packages to support certification, market linkages, and business matchmaking.
- Ensure regular consultation with members to address challenges and represent their needs to relevant stakeholders.
- Innovation and Technogy adaptation
- Lead on explore new technologies and innovation include boosting efficiency and yield through precision agriculture, improving quality via advanced processing, and reducing waste through better harvesting and predictive technologies. Innovations include using drones and AI for monitoring, automated irrigation systems, and robotic harvesters, as well as chemical induction to increase flowering.
- Fundraising, Resource Mobilization & Financial Management
- Lead fundraising efforts, including identifying grants, development programs, and partnership funding opportunities.
Job Requirements
Languages:
- Khmer - Fluent
- English - Fluent
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in Leadership roles within agriculture sector, development, or federations for 5 years
- Strong understanding of Cambodia’s agri-processing and export landscape.
- Sound in research and development skill.
- Experience in donor relations and proposal writing.
- Fluent in Khmer and English (other languages is a plus).
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability.
