Job Description

The Cambodian Journalists Alliance Association (CamboJA) is an independent, membership-based association committed to promoting press freedom and strengthening public-interest journalism in Cambodia. Through partnerships with donors, media development organizations, civil society, and other stakeholders, CamboJA implements capacity development initiatives to enhance the professional skills, ethical standards, safety, and resilience of journalists and media workers.To support the growing scope of these initiatives, CamboJA is inviting applications for the following positions:

Job Responsibilities & Duties
  • Business Opportunity Research and Support
  • Assist the Business Development Specialist in researching potential business opportunities, partnerships, clients, and funding sources that align with CamboJA’s social mission and business goals.
  • Support basic market research on Cambodia’s media landscape, including trends, opportunities, and challenges related to media services, social impact, and community engagement.
  • Assist in preparing background information, research summaries, and materials to support business development planning and decision-making.
  • Client and Stakeholder Relationship Support
  • Assist in maintaining and updating contact information and records of clients, partners, donors, members, and other stakeholders.
  • Support communication and follow-up with clients and partners under the guidance of the Business Development Specialist.
  • Assist in preparing meeting materials, client profiles, partnership documents, and other relevant communication materials.
  • Revenue Generation and Non-Grant Project Support
  • Support the Business Development Specialist in implementing activities under non-grant projects and income-generation initiatives, including advertising, content creation, membership programs, media services, and other business activities.
  • Assist in coordinating with relevant teams to support the implementation of campaigns, promotional activities, and other initiatives that contribute to revenue generation.
  • Support the collection of information and documentation related to business activities and client engagement.
  • Documentation, Reporting, and Impact Measurement Support
  • Assist in tracking business development activities, including client engagement, partnership activities, revenue-related information, and project progress.
  • Support the preparation of regular updates, summaries, presentations, and reports for internal use.
  • Assist in collecting information on the social impact and outcomes of business activities in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Administrative and Coordination Support
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for business development activities, meetings, events, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Assist in preparing documents, organizing files, updating databases, and maintaining records related to business development activities.
  • Perform other relevant tasks assigned by the Business Development Specialist or line supervisor.
Job Requirements
Languages:
  • Khmer - Good
  • English - Good
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Undergraduate Degree in final-year university student in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or another relevant field.
Skills & Knowledge:General & Technical Skills
  • Previous internship, volunteer work, university project, or extracurricular experience related to business development, communications, marketing, fundraising, event coordination, research, or administration is an advantage.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and online communication platforms is desirable.
  • Experience in social media management, customer service, or organizing events is an asset.
  • Ability to draft simple correspondence, take meeting notes, and prepare basic reports in Khmer and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, internet research, and online collaboration tools.
  • Good command of Khmer and English, both written and spoken.
Soft Skills
  • Strong interest in business development, partnership building, fundraising, and organizational sustainability.
  • Basic research, organizational, and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate commitment to CamboJA's vision, mission, and values.
