CARE is an international development organization fighting global poverty with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring sustainable changes their communities. CARE has been working with Cambodians since 1973, with an office in Phnom Penh since 1991. Today, CARE focuses on empowering particularly marginalised and vulnerable women in Cambodia, including urban women who are marginalised by occupation, rural women who are denied multiple rights, and women and girls form ethnic minorities. Each year CARE Cambodia implements around 10 projects, reaching approximately 250,000 direct participants and about 500,000 people are reached indirectly.
- Specifically, in line with the strategic thematic direction of the regional GEN team, the Consultant will:
- Design and publish written and visual content on gender equity to engage and inform participating GEN members on Mighty Network on a weekly basis
- Design the content and relevant materials for Monthly Supplier Calls
- Attend the Monthly Supplier Calls, if and wherever possible, to support the GEN Coordinator in Cambodia/ Gender Advisor with engaging suppliers
- Complete monthly report on the supplier engagement to the Regional GEN Coordinator
- Attend the Monthly GEN Call with the Regional GEN Coordinator and other relevant stakeholders, if and wherever possible, to debrief about the ongoing engagement of the participating GEN members
- Support the GEN Cambodia Coordinator with the preparation of the GEN in-person event if and where relevant
- Work closely with CARE Cambodia to ensure the successful engagement of the participating GEN members
- English - Fluent
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in promoting gender equity in the global value chain in the GFT sector, particularly in Cambodia
- Strong research skills, with the ability to communicate complex gender equity and human rights concepts to non-experts in a plain and action-oriented manner
- Experience working with civil society organisations, local OPDs, and international relevant actors, such as ILO, to promote safe and harassment-free employment
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong focus on delivering results
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Knowledge of regional languages and/or cultural contexts in Cambodia
