DanChurchAid (DCA) established its first office in Cambodia in 1997 after having supported partners since its inception in 1979. DCA international goals are based on the vision and respond to the need for sustainable development and humanitarian action. All DCA’s activities are carried out in support of one or more of these three goals: Save Lives, Build Resilient Communities, and Fight Extreme inequality. In Cambodia and globally, DCA is relying on a partner-based approach. DCA Cambodia currently partners with more than 23 local NGOs.
Over the last two years, DCA has facilitated initiatives aimed at enhancing partners' comprehension of mental wellbeing, stress management, and self-care practices. Partners have made good progress in formulating organizational wellbeing policies/guidelines, selecting/nominating a wellbeing supporter within their organizations, and strengthening capacity to those wellbeing supporters. In continuation of this initiative, DCA seeks to further bolster support in 2025-2027 through a series of training and refresher sessions for our partners. All wellbeing supporters from partner organizations have already received series of training on stress management, wellbeing, and basic knowledge as wellbeing supporters. However, among well-being supporters have demonstrated their needs for further training on Psychological First Aid (PFA).
DCA is seeking the consultant services of a qualified professional specializing 1) Psychological First Aid and 2) in self-care and wellbeing to conduct training sessions for DCA and partners’ staff.
- The consultancy proposal should encompass the following components:
- A detailed outline of the approach to collaboration with DCA, demonstrating a clear understanding of the organization's objectives and requirements.
- Recommendations and a concise overview of proposed tools, strategies, and topics to be incorporated into the training sessions, aligning closely with the identified needs and objectives.
- A comprehensive consultancy budget outlining all anticipated expenses related to the project (both main activities).
- An overview of the applicant's relevant experience and past consultations, including details on scope, stakeholders involved, and the content of previous projects.
- Submission of a sample training agenda focusing on wellbeing, showcasing the applicant's ability to develop and facilitate effective training sessions in line with the project's goals and objectives.

- Work experience in self-care training, wellness coaching, mental health support, or employee wellbeing programmes for 5 years as a minimum
- The ideal candidate or consulting team members must hold at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as psychology, health sciences, social work, public health, or related fields. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced degrees such as a master's or doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, or health sciences.
- Certifications in health coaching, mindfulness, stress management, and wellness training.
- Demonstrated expertise in stress management, burnout prevention, mindfulness, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
- The candidate must have the proven skills to provide analyse the mental health and self-care needs of organizations and/or individuals and provide training and capacity development support to a wide range of people with vary level of understanding of and experience in selfcare and wellbeing.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting interactive, participant-centred training sessions or workshops is essential, particularly in areas such as active listening, effective communication, stress management, and conflict resolution.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively convey complex concepts and engage participants during training sessions.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with organizations in the field of human rights who demonstrate a strong understanding of the nuanced challenges of working in the sector.
- Fluency in Khmer language and based in Cambodia.
Interested applicants are invited to submit a proposal of no more than 10 pages, clearly demonstrating how the consultant(s) meet the stated criteria. The proposal should include:
- A detailed explanation of the proposed methodology and approach.
- A summary of relevant experience in designing and delivering similar programs, including examples of successful outcomes.
- A clear articulation of what success will look like for this assignment.
Applicants are also required to provide a lump sum financial proposal in USD, inclusive of all applicable taxes, to cover the full scope of work as outlined in the Terms of Reference (TOR).
Please note:
- Training venue, materials, and refreshments will be provided by DCA and should not be included in the consultant’s fee.
- If not based on Phnom Penh, travel expenses should be included in the financial proposal and travel should align with the workplan.
