Currently Epic Arts is looking for high committed person for the position of Community Social Worker.
- Community Social Worker
- Child Protection and Childsafe Project
- Contribute to reviews and implementation of EA Child Protection Policy and procedures
- Assist with training to ensure EA staff are working in a child safe way
- Participate in a roster to cover the after-hours Childsafe hotline
- Train and support Child safe agents
- Keep records of case management
- Organise emergency support for victims
- Provide support for victims and their families
- Establish relationships with parents of children with disabilities (CWD) to ensure that they have safe home environments.
- Inclusive Education Programme
- Inclusive Arts Course (IAC)
- Co-ordinate with the Team Leader IAC to recruit and oversee the welfare of IAC students
- Special Education Project (SEP)
- Join weekly meeting with SEP
- Be communicator with SEP parents with support from SEP team leader.
- Home visit if needed.
- On the process of recruited new SEP student if needed.
- On call if any emergency problem with SEP students.
- Support project teams working with our service users and their families
- Meeting with potential service users and making an assessment of their needs
- Provide clear and accurate information and feedback to families of workshop participants / special education students
- Coordinate and implement any parents group meetings as instructed by the line Manager.
- Report issues with families, students and staff to line manager on a monthly basis (more often in case of emergency)
- Support families to ensure that children have access to medical care where available, including supporting with referrals to other services
- Work with project teams to develop life skills workshops for young people on issues relevant to them (e.g. relationships, drugs, alcohol, safety, social etc).
- Responding to emergency situations as appropriate, ensuring that priority cases are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Facilitate communication within Epic Arts partnership
- Coordinate with deaf interpreter to be aware of and responsive to the needs of the deaf staff members, students within Epic Art
- Maintaining accurate records of service user information, including developing and updating our current database
- Ensuring information is shared effectively with the relevant staff whilst maintaining confidentiality.
- Coordinate with Local Authorities and Partner Organisations
- Linking with local authorities, including but not limited to:
- Communicate with local authorities and maintain relationships with the local authorities, including the Offices of Social Affairs, Culture and Fine Arts and Education.
- Establish and maintain links with key local government officials, commune chiefs and village chiefs in order to introduce them to Epic Arts’ work
- Provide information to enable local authorities to refer people with disabilities in to other services and NGOs as appropriate.
- Link with other disability organisations in Cambodia, including attending networking meetings.
- Link with medical organisations and hospitals in the area to collect information about the services they provide.
- Refer PWD to services provided by partner NGOs or hospitals
- Coordinate with relevant organisations regarding any legal cases involving our service users, ensuring it passed on to the appropriate organisation.
- QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor degree in Social Work or related field
- Experience in social work
- Reliable, with good planning organizational and record-keeping skills
- Punctual and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate with a range of actors: government personnel, Epic Arts staff (all levels), community sector stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively
- Ability to speak, write and read in both English and Khmer
- DESIRABLE
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- Experience working in an NGO
