Job Description

As a WASC accredited education institution Footprints International School considers innovative approaches of teaching and learning the centric methodology to gear students’ education towards the school wide learner outcomes (SLOs).

It shall support the students in developing a growth mindset that leads to habits of lifelong learning on the one hand and, on the other hand, instills a global mindset through which the students adopt 21st-century skills and healthy and sustainable living practices.

Creativity shall be fostered through an emphasis on an integrative and experiential learning approach to Sciences, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

Community Engaged Learning in the context of the importance of the Khmer Language and Culture for the FIS families is one key initiative to ensure that learning is authentic and locally relevant.

Another key initiative “fostering love for reading” addresses critical learner needs identified in the areas of literacy, in particular for the younger learners.

The holistic approach of these educational anchors at Footprints International School is embedded in the school’s vision, mission and values. It supports the student’s achievement of the schoolwide learner outcomes (SLOs), Cambridge learner attributes and the academic standards of the Cambridge international curriculum.

Job Responsibilities & Duties
  • Setting Directions
  • Building a shared vision in accordance with the foundational statements, the school’s values and the SLOs.
  • Developing and monitoring the schoolwide action plan.
  • Managing demands and expectations of all stakeholders in the community.
  • Communicating and modelling the school’s values of Compassion, Determination and Responsibility.
  • Building Relationships and Developing People
  • Providing support and demonstrating consideration for individual staff members to reach the internally recognized standard of teaching and learning and professionalism.
  • Stimulating growth in the professional capacities of staff to reach targeted goals.
  • Building trusting relationships with and among staff, students and parents.
  • Supporting the top management in their day-to-day activities and decision makings.
  • Developing the Organisation to Support Desired Practice
  • Building collaborative cultures and distributing leadership.
  • Structuring the organisation to facilitate collaboration.
  • Building supportive relationships with families and the community.
  • Connecting the school to the wider environment.
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Allocating resources in support of the school’s vision and goals.
  • Improving the Instructional Programme
  • Staffing and equipping the instructional programmes to achieve international school’s accreditation standards.
  • Providing instructional support according to the principles of Trust-based Observations.
  • Using data to monitor progress in student learning and school improvement.
  • Creating a learning culture of care, respect and compassion.
  • Securing Accountability
  • Building staff members’ sense of internal accountability.
  • Meeting the demands for external accountability.
  • Aligning student's accountability standards with the international programmes.
Job Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Education/Educational Administration or Business Administration or similar qualifications.
  • Proficiency in professional writing and speaking in Khmer.
  • English as a first language or proof of professional English proficiency.
  • Solid experience in teaching and classroom management.
  • Solid experience in school leadership and managing teaching and learning.
  • Proof of reputable personal and professional integrity with good records.
  • Experience and familiarity in curriculum management, accreditation and compliance is a plus.
  • Familiarity with trust-based approach and restorative practices is a plus
