Job Description

GRET is a French international development NGO that has worked to reduce poverty and inequality since 1976. With more than 800 professionals operating in 28 countries, GRET has been active in Cambodia since 1988. Its work in the country covers several sectors, including water and sanitation, agriculture and irrigation, agroecology and nutrition, agricultural value chains, land governance and social protection.

GRET has been working in Siem Reap Province since 2010. Its initial interventions focused on crop diversification, agroecological farming practices, support to agricultural cooperatives and improved market access for smallholder farmers. Over time, these activities have contributed to strengthening farmers’ production systems, incomes and resilience.

Since 2023, GRET has expanded this work through a broader territorial approach covering Sotr Nikum, Chi Kreng, Svay Leu and Prasat Bakong districts, as well as Run Taek. This approach goes beyond direct support to farmers and aims to engage public authorities, civil society organisations, private-sector actors and other local stakeholders in the development of more sustainable, inclusive and resilient food systems.

This work is implemented through the “Territories Committed to Agroecological Transition, Resilience and Sustainable Food” project, known as TETARD. The project is supported through the decentralised cooperation partnership between the Hauts-de-Seine Departmental Council in France and the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, with co-financing from the French Development Agency. It is led by the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, with technical support from GRET and Agrisud International.

To support the coordination and implementation of the project, GRET is recruiting an Assistant to the Head of Project (CD92) for a short-term assignment based in Siem Reap.
