With funding from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our country programs are implementing a suite of five lifesaving health services: supplementing women with essential vitamins and minerals during pregnancy, supporting optimal breastfeeding, improving diets for infants and young children, screening children for acute malnutrition and getting treatment to them as early as possible and delivering vitamin A.
Our program, known as Transforming Lives, also drives complementary food systems actions that improve women’s diets, protect and promote the diets of infants and young children, and secure access to essential nutrients.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is sponsoring a cohort of one-year internships in the countries where Transforming Lives is being implemented. The program is adapted to the context of each country, and the specific elements of the five lifesaving interventions will vary accordingly. As a result, the details of each internship will vary according to the needs of the country. The common thread of the internships is that each intern will be recruited from a country where the program is active, and they will contribute to the learning agenda of that country's program.
- The IMAM Project Coordinator is responsible for leading, coordinating, and ensuring the effective implementation, quality, and reporting of all activities related to the identification, referral, and treatment of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM).
- Lead the day-to-day planning, implementation, supervision, and quality assurance of IMAM project activities, ensuring effective project cycle management including work planning, budget forecasting and tracking, logistics coordination, and procurement and distribution of Nutrix products and equipment.
- Coordinate closely with the National Nutrition Program (NNP), Provincial Health Departments (PHD), Operational Districts (OD), hospitals, health centers, CSO partners, and sub-national authorities to ensure effective and timely project delivery.
- Conduct regular field supervision and monitoring visits to maintain program quality, identify gaps, and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Coordinate and facilitate training for health providers on the identification, referral, and treatment of SAM and MAM.
- Support and train Village Health Support Groups (VHSG) on MUAC screening and referral processes.
- Promote early identification of malnutrition through caregiver engagement and the “Mother’s MUAC” initiative.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supportive supervision to project staff and health facility teams.
- Support the planning and coordination of surveys, assessments, and research activities related to the project.
- Maintain accurate records of trainings, beneficiaries, and program data.
- Prepare and submit monthly and periodic reports to the Project Team Leader and contribute to donor reporting requirements.
- Document program experiences, lessons learned, and best practices, and contribute to technical reports, presentations, and scientific documentation as required.
- Represent Helen Keller in meetings, workshops, forums, and trainings related to SAM and MAM, and deliver technical presentations as needed.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with government counterparts, partners, local authorities, and donors.
- Provide leadership and direct supervision to Project Officers and IMAM team members, conduct performance evaluations, and participate in recruitment processes when required.
- Support the implementation of security and safety procedures and promptly report any security or safety incidents to the Country Director.

- Bachelor's Degree in public health, nutrition, nursing, or a related field
- Some experience working with government officials at the sub-national level, particularly in the health sector.
- Ability to conduct training and facilitate monthly meetings with NNP, PHDs, ODs, Health Centers, caregivers, and households with children under five.
- Proficiency in speaking and writing in Khmer and English.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with local authorities and partners.
- Willing to travel to and stay in the remote/rural areas.
