Job Description

We are looking for qualified candidate to fill for the position below.

Job Responsibilities & Duties
  • Financial Recordkeeping
  • Maintain accurate financial records for all organizational income and expenditures.
  • Post financial transactions into QuickBooks or the approved accounting system.
  • Ensure all supporting financial documentation is properly filed and compliant with organizational policies.
  • Cash Book & Reconciliation
  • Maintain up-to-date cashbooks for organizational accounts.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular cash counts and maintain accurate cash records.
  • Cambodia Financial Compliance
  • Participate in strategic financial planning
  • Prepare documentation for Cambodian tax payments and government compliance.
  • Assist with payroll records, tax filings, and social security contributions.
  • Maintain financial documentation required for NGO regulatory requirements.
  • Donor & Sponsorship Financial Tracking
  • Track incoming sponsorship and donor contributions.
  • Reconcile donor records between the donor management system and QuickBooks.
  • Coordinate with the U.S.-based accounting team to ensure accurate donor reporting.
  • Budget Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track program spending against approved budgets.
  • Prepare budget vs. actual financial reports for leadership.
  • Assist leadership in monitoring program financial performance.
  • Grant & Restricted Fund Tracking
  • Track donor-restricted funds and ensure expenditures align with donor requirements.
  • Maintain documentation related to grants and restricted donations.
  • Assist leadership in preparing financial reports required by donors.
  • Asset Register Management
  • Maintain an updated fixed asset register including equipment and program assets.
  • Track asset purchases, locations, and disposal of assets.
  • Assist with periodic verification of organizational assets.
  • Internal Financial Controls
  • Follow established financial procedures to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Support separation of duties and internal control processes.
  • Report financial discrepancies or concerns to leadership.
  • Collaboration
  • Regularly attend weekly/ monthly team meetings
  • Communicate regularly with the U.S.-based accounting team regarding financial reconciliation and reporting.
  • Support leadership with financial reporting and documentation.
  • Coordinate with program staff regarding financial tracking of program expenses.
Job Requirements
Languages:
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Work History:
  • Experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the NGO or nonprofit sector for 2 to 3 years
Skills & Knowledge:General & Technical Skills
  • Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Ability to maintain accurate financial records and confidentiality
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) to coordinate with the U.S. accounting team
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and Google Workspace
  • Experience working within international NGOs or nonprofit finance teams
  • Understanding of Cambodian tax regulations and NGO financial compliance requirements
  • Experience managing donor-restricted funds or grant reporting
  • Ability to coordinate financial reporting with international teams
Soft Skills
  • Verifiable evidence of sound character and integrity
