Human Resource and Rural Economic Development Organization is a Cambodian non-governmental, non-profit organization which established by a group of Cambodian agricultural and rural development specialists in January 1999.
As a strategic partner with Plan since 2017, HURREDO has been selected to implement a Sponsorship Communication projectin Angkor Chum, Angkor Thom, Banteay Srei, Prasat Bakong, Srei Snom and Svay Leu districts. Sponsorship Communication project is a means of generating long-term and reliable income and support for Plan International’s child-centered community development and rights-based programs. It is the cornerstone on which the organization was established, and it remains the foundation from which Plan International continues to operate today. It nurtures meaningful relationships with communities, families, children, and Sponsors that enable Plan to establish long-term interventions with lasting improvements to the quality of life of children and families with whom Plan works. It provides a solid foundation for building a global community that is aware of, involved in, and united around the needs and rights of children, especially girls.
The proposed model also aims to unify these dual modalities, enabling partners to holistically address the needs of sponsored children and ensure that no child is excluded from Plan’s interventions, both Sponsorship and Program.
- RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Translate all Sponsored Child (SC) and sponsor letters with good quality and timeliness and screen for inappropriate content and photos before distribution / sending out.
- Encode and upload all SC profile data and photos into ChildData system accurately to meet processing targets.
- Record, follow up and validate the list of the absent SCs to identify whether they are temporarily or permanently absent, and follow up and process SC cancellations submitted with required criteria.
- Assist the training of SOs and volunteers on sponsorship communication based on new sponsorship manual and provide feedback on the quality of sponsorship communications received from SCs.
- Respond to National Office Inquiries (NOI) in a timely manner and assist with sponsor visits as required. Use and process all SC and sponsor communication correctly with internal system.
- Emergency response: Update and keep files and information related to affected SCs in a safe place and periodically update the CO.
- Ensure that all required sponsorship standard to keep children safe in sponsorship are properly applied and checked.
- HURREDO, implement, monitor and evaluate work with the aim of achieving gender equality and ensuring the implementation of HURREDO’s commitments as outlined in the Policy on Gender Equality.
- Adhere to the Safeguarding Policy and report any Child Safeguarding incidents in line with local reporting mechanisms.
- Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the Supervisor and HURREDO. Provide regular support to partner staff on the use of the Child Data system, data entry standards, translation quality, and sponsorship communication protocols.
- Assist Sponsorship Manager in monitoring the quality and timeliness of data management and translation tasks performed by partner staff. Joint reviews and reflection and documentation the challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for improving the partner-managed sponsorship model.
- Must responsible and acknowledges to HURREDO’s policies such as Financial police, Personnel policy, Gender Equality Policy, Safeguarding Children & Young People Policy, Procurement Policy, Fraud and corruption Policy and other in-placed HURREDO’s policies.
- HURREDO will conduct criminal check to all selected candidates
- Beside conducting the past job performance check with the provided reference, HURREDO will check with the reference on the case of child abuse as well.
- DEALING WITH PROBLEMS:
- Duties are mainly defined by systems, policies and procedures with limited independent decision-making
- The role is responsible for using discretion to apply sponsorship communication policy and guidelines to all communications between SC and sponsor.
- The role is responsible for working with the SOs to monitor and meet the strict sponsorship targets (both in terms of time and quality) in the face of regular SC dropouts.
- Address challenges related to partner staff capacity in managing sponsorship data and translation tasks. Provide timely support and escalate issues to the Sponsorship Manager as needed.
- English - Good
- Bachelor's Degree in English and Computer Science Tertiary English language qualification is required
- Sponsorship NGO, or in a secretary, administration or English language translation position for 2 years as a minimum
- Knowledge of community development issues desirable
- Experience with MS office products and with databases and data entry
- Communication skills (ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written in English)
- Ability to effectively work as a team
