Job Description

- Music and Arts Teacher (2 Positions)
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Curriculum Development and Delivery:
- Design and implement a dynamic curriculum that integrates music and visual arts, aligned with educational standards and school goals.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Music Instruction:
- Teach students the fundamentals of music theory, instrumental skills, and vocal techniques.
- Conduct school choirs, bands, or orchestras, and prepare students for performances and recitals.
- Foster an appreciation for various musical genres and cultural traditions.
- Visual Arts Instruction:
- Introduce students to different art techniques, mediums, and styles.
- Guide students in creating individual and collaborative art projects.
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression through art.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess and evaluate student progress in both music and visual arts.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s development.
- Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages artistic exploration and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
- Extracurricular Activities:
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities such as art clubs, music ensembles, and school performances.
- Coordinate art exhibitions and music showcases to display student work and talent.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices in music and art education through ongoing professional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall arts program and integrate arts into other subject areas.
Job Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field (required).
- Experience:
- Prior teaching experience in music and/or visual arts at the primary or secondary level (preferred).
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment design.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in one or more musical instruments and a strong understanding of music theory.
- Expertise in various visual arts techniques and mediums.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital art tools.
