Partners for Development in Action (PfDA) is a local non-profit organization. PfDA was registered on September 14, 2017, with the Ministry of Interior with reference letter No. 5192. PfDA is a non-governmental organization. PfDA's program focuses on providing opportunities for the poorest Cambodians, especially the most vulnerable women and children, to lead dignified lives. This is the universal objective and aspiration of humanity, regardless of race, color, sex, or religion. PfDA works with values of transparency, accountability, solidarity, and cooperation. Currently, PfDA is operating in Koh Kong Province. PfDA was a partnership that received funding from ActionAid Cambodia (AAC) for the basic local rights program (LRP), which supports fishing communities and Community Protected Areas (CPA) to promote basic rights by promoting food security for vulnerable people, education, local life skills programs, environment, sanitation, and clean water in 3 target districts, namely Sre Ambel, Botum, Sakor, and Thmor Bang, hereafter called the Project. Currently, PfDA is seeking one qualified Cambodian national staff member for the position of Admin/Finance Officer (1 position) based in PfDA Sre Ambel, Koh Kong province.
- Administrative Responses
- Manage office supplies stock and place orders
- Prepare regular reports on expenses and office budgets
- Maintain and update PFDA databases
- Organize a filing system for important and confidential PFDA documents
- Answer queries by employees and clients
- Following and enforcing the organization's procurement policies and procedures.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
- Maintain an organization's calendar and schedule appointments
- Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
- Distribute and store correspondence (e.g., letters, emails, and packages)
- Prepare reports and presentations with statistical data, as assigned
- Schedule in-house and external events
- Prepare income tax returns and related tax work papers.
- Assist in the preparation, coordination, and completion of financial statement audit procedures.
- Assist with the child program if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Accounting Responds: A Finance Officer is responsible for all financial aspects of an organization. They manage the budget, prepare financial reports, and ensure that all financial transactions are conducted legally and ethically. The duties and responsibilities of a Finance Officer may vary depending on their experience, expertise, and the business they work for, but typically they include:
- Managing the budget: this includes forecasting future income and expenses, creating budgets and balance sheets, and ensuring that spending is within budget limits.
- Preparing financial reports: Financial reports provide an overview of the company's financial status and performance. They are used to make critical business decisions, assess risk, and secure financing.
- Conducting financial transactions: a Finance Officer oversees all financial transactions, including issuing payments, collecting debts, and investing money.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and laws: Finance Officers must comply with all relevant economic rules and regulations in Australia and overseas. This includes ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Using accounting software: this is to keep an accurate record of all internal and external business financial transactions and perform financial audits wherever necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Administration and Accounting
- Strong Management with at least of Procurement and Finance management experience with an NGO for 2 years
- Knowledge of effective financial and budget controls; proven ability to manage budgets;
- Proven work experience as an Administrative and Finance or similar role
- Solid knowledge of office procedures
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and relevant accounting software
- Extensive experience with accounting procedures and systems
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as a team, and Numerical accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Problem-solving skills
