Launched in 2002, Sala Baï Hotel and Restaurant school is a program created by the French NGO Agir Pour le Cambodge (APLC), to fight poverty and human trafficking through social and professional training of young underprivileged Cambodians. Each year the school trains free of charge, about 150 young disadvantaged Cambodians between 17 and 23 years old. It offers 5 different training categories in the hospitality industry: Restaurant Service, Cooking, Housekeeping, Front Office and Beauty Therapy. The Hotel, Restaurant and Spa of the school are open to the public to allow the students to practice in real conditions. With more than 2 000 ALUMNI trained, Sala Baï is recognized as a leading impact program in Cambodia.
- Together with your colleagues, you will:
- Provide individual case management and psychosocial support to students.
- Monitor attendance, behavior and wellbeing; identify and support at-risk students
- Participate in student recruitment: school and NGO presentations, socio-economic family visits, and student interviews.
- Support internships and job placements for graduates.
- Help strengthen the Sala Baï Alumni network
- Organize activities with students (sports, cultural visits, awareness workshops, etc.).
- Maintain accurate student records and prepare reports for management and donors.
- Experience:
- Bachelor degree in the field of social work, education or other relevant subject,
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience (NGO experience preferred)
- Skills
- Good communication in Khmer and English
- Comfortable with IT tools (Google Forms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Skilled in counseling and active listening with students and their parents.
- Personal traits:
- Strong desire to help underprivileged young Cambodians
- Willing to learn new skills and independent in the learning process
- Team spirit and willingness to share knowledge
- Commitment to inclusivity and gender equality
