Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (SPIR) is a nonprofit, nondenominational, evangelical Christian Organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. We are seeking one qualified candidate to fill the position below:
- Assist the Program Manager and Project Coordinators to implement the program so it runs well, including making plans on time, completing assigned tasks, and alerting the Project Coordinator to any problems.
- Develop relationships with local authorities, which will assist with project field activities implementation, including developing relationships with commune chiefs, village chiefs, and church leaders and coordinating church involvement.
- Take turns requesting cash advances for the project’s weekly expenses, as required.
- Prepare materials and lesson plans to train village Volunteers on the SMTA, Healthy Family and Financial Management in a creative and participatory manner.
- Engage with the village chiefs to select village volunteers to participate in the project.
- Lead and engage the community members, local authority to execute the promotion night community campaign, youth debate and campaign on SMTA, GBV in the selected villages.
- In coordination with Project Coordinator with regular data collection, report writing, and other general administrative duties as required.
- Plan and organize daily tasks effectively within the prescribed time.
- Write monthly stories, quotes and submit photos about the project's impact to Project Coordinator
- Refer migrant workers and vulnerable people to appropriate partners for additional assistance.
- Develop relationships in the community, which will assist with further programming, including finding local churches and developing relationships with church and cell group leaders.
- Provide daily and weekly coaching to village volunteers to ensure they are confident and effective in conducting home visits and conduct instant spot-check of the village Volunteers’ home visit to ensure accountability of their work.
- Coordinate with relevant local leaders during case discussions and carry out regular home visits to vulnerable families.
- Work with child friendly space and IDP families in the Chansi camp in Ou Chrov district.
- Lead and coordinate the performance artists’ team to ensure smooth and successful performances at all community events.
- Be a strong Christian witness in the community.
- Other duties associated with implementing the project as assigned by Project Coordinator
- Khmer - Fluent
- Bachelor's Degree
- Agree to and follow the mission statement of Samaritan’s Purse
- Strong facilitation and participatory training skills
- Knowledge of and/or experience with household-based livelihoods and community youth
- Knowledge of ‘Protection’ especially with regard to, GBV, migration, labor exploitation and human trafficking
- Bachelor level education is desired
- Knowledge of Savings Groups and/or Cooperatives - desirable
- Previous experience in implementing community-based interventions in Battambang province – desirable
- Basic skills in MS Word and MS Excel (as a minimum)
- Able to use Smart Phones and Tablets
- Creative and flexible person who can work well under pressure and solve problems
- Ability to carry out innovative training and participatory community engagement
- Ability and willingness to ride a motorbike for long distances (this is a mandatory requirement of the job)
- Ability to confidently read and write Khmer
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Effective written communications skills
- Time management skills
