Job Description

  • Senior IT Server and Storage Officer (2 Positions)
Job Responsibilities & Duties
  • Responsible for hardware planning, design, implementation and management for server (IBM, DELL and Cisco), storage (IBM and Hitachi), SAN switch and tape library.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Server, Storages by monitoring system performance, installation, configuration, maintenance and repair. Ensures that system downtime are recorded properly by the system log.
  • Manage and monitor the data center device include fire suppression system, cooling system, UPS and access door.
  • Experience with operating system include Microsoft (Window Server 2012 & 2016), Linux and AIX.
  • Excellent technical skills across hardware, O/S (Windows, Linux, AIX), and applications.
  • Establishes, maintains and manages user accounts (root) of Linux, AIX and UNIX.
  • Responsible for installing, configuring, managing and monitoring the virtualization platform such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, PowerVM (VIOS+VIOC) and cloud.In-depth knowledge and experience with vCenter, VMotion, DRS and HA, SRM, datastore and vrealize of VMware vSphere.
  • Responsible for install, configure, manage and maintenance Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Server, Lync, File Server and DNS.
  • Establishes guidelines, methods for the installation, configuration and management of the host include operating systems, disk arrays, fiber channel SAN switches, tape libraries and other components.
  • Develops procedures, programs and documentation for backup/restore of host operating systems and host-based applications.
  • Ensures high availability is applied on server, storage, SAN switch and other critical device in order to prevent downtime by increase uptime.
  • Develops procedures to maintain server, storage and other related device in order to protect systems from unauthorized use.
  • Must be familiar with protocol such SSH, Telnet, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, RDP, SNMP, FTP, SFTP, DNS, LDAP and Radius.
  • Strong troubleshooting on hardware and system, problem solving skills and team player.
  • Responsible for minimize downtime by rapidly diagnosing and resolving problems.
  • Ability to perform work after-office hour for scheduled maintenance and unscheduled issue resolution.
  • Develops tools, procedures, and training sessions for sharing to IT Support staff.
  • Ability to do the research and develop on new technology trend for hardware server, SAN storage, and virtualization platform such as VMware, Cloud and PowerVM and data center.
  • Develop a storage and server testing to find out the solution for supporting business requirement.
  • To liaise with auditors where necessary on any area of Network and Security Management.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor/Master in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
  • Experienced and certified in IBM AIX, Linux, Microsoft
  • At 5 year experience in installing, configuring and managing the server and storage.
  • Experience in Project Management and Project migration is plus.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities requirement by management.
  • Be patient, hardworking and able to work under pressure.
  • Good attitude, Honest, Strong and healthy, Fast learning and creative idea.
  • Efficient communications skills (listen, write, oral) and Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal and problem solving skill.
  • Self-starter with strong self-management skills and leadership.
