Job Responsibilities & Duties
  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff to maintain proper cooking techniques and service standards.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor kitchen workflow and delegate tasks effectively to meet service demands.
  • Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and food cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients properly.
  • Check food freshness, quality, and proper storage daily.
  • Handle guest feedback related to food quality and collaborate with the Executive Chef on improvements.
  • Participate in controlling labor costs and managing efficient staff scheduling.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and all workstations.
  • Assist in managing special events, banquets, and seasonal menu updates.
  • Step in and lead the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Foster teamwork, discipline, and a positive working environment within the kitchen.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma in or degree in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred
Skills & Knowledge:General & Technical Skills
  • Minimum 4–6 years of kitchen experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or sous chef role.
  • Strong knowledge of international and local cuisines, food production, and cooking techniques.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
