TDSO (Teacher Development Support Organisation) is developing a new programme, Mathematics for Public Primary Schools (MPPS), and is recruiting a Primary Mathematics Trainer and Coach to help build and pilot it. This is a development and piloting role: you will help design the course, deliver it to a first group of primary teachers, and coach them in their classrooms.
MPPS will prepare public primary school teachers to teach mathematics effectively, building on the national Early Grade Mathematics package and the MoEYS-approved primary mathematics materials, and is designed to fit within the MoEYS Teacher Career Pathway Framework.
- Contribute to the design of the course, the training materials and the assessment tools.
- Deliver weekly workshops to primary teachers.
- Observe and coach teachers in their classrooms.
- Keep records of participants' progress and report on the programme.
- Khmer - Fluent
- English - Good
- Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, education or a related field
- Experience teaching mathematics in primary school, and experience training or coaching teachers.
- Good knowledge of the Cambodian primary mathematics curriculum.
- Fluent in Khmer and a working knowledge of English.
- Willing to travel to schools in Siem Reap province.
- Experience with the Early Grade Mathematics package or the VVOB mathematics materials is an asset.
- Demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset, takes initiative, and is willing to experiment, embrace new ideas and explore uncharted territory.
