The NGO Forum on Cambodia is a well-respected membership-based organization. It comprises 70 local and international non-governmental organizations, each specializing in different areas of humanitarian and development assistance to Cambodia. NGOF exists to represent the priorities and concerns of these civil society organizations, which are accountable to the poor and vulnerable people of Cambodia. The NGO Forum was established in the early 1980s by international NGOs campaigning for an end to the aid embargo imposed on Cambodia at that time. Over the last three decades, the NGO Forum has evolved in response to the changing socio-political climate of the country. Since its inception, the NGO Forum has accumulated significant institutional expertise in convening CSOs, facilitating networks of members in shared advocacy work, representing the diversity of members’ views and interests, and constructively engaging with government, development partners, and the private sector. Currently, the NGO Forum is seeking a qualified Cambodian candidate for the position of Program Communications Assistant.
- Website, Social Media, and Event Communications
- Manage and update NGOF’s website and social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter/X, Instagram, etc.).
- Work with program and Executive Director to ensure content that aligns with NGOF’s advocacy priorities and program activities.
- Support online communications during events, including livestream, photography, videography, and live updates.
- Coordinate with program managers and the Media and Communications Unit to ensure timely dissemination of information.
- Media Relations and Outreach
- Build and maintain positive relationships with media outlets and journalists.
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and key messages.
- Track and report media coverage related to NGOF programs and advocacy campaigns.
- Content Creation and Branding
- Design and produce IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials, infographics, and branded publications.
- Develop videos, photos, and human-interest stories that highlight NGOF’s work and partner impact.
- Ensure consistent application of NGOF branding guidelines across all communication outputs.
- Internal Communications and Knowledge Sharing
- Support internal communication flow among staff and program teams.
- Compile and maintain program-related communication materials (handbooks, reports, presentations).
- Assist in documenting lessons learned, success stories, and advocacy achievements.
- Reporting and Monitoring Communications
- Track analytics and performance of NGOF’s website and social media engagement.
- Provide communication inputs for monthly in the form of newsletter, semi-annual, and annual reports.
- Contribute to donor reports by highlighting communications and outreach activities.
- Logistic support
- Assist program on daily activities and the event organizing, but not limited to deal with invitations and others logistic arrangements supporting program activities implementation.
- Assist to support on IT including computer, printer and other IT equipment.
- Common Responsibilities of NGOF Staff
- Deputizing Program Manager in handling program management when delegation carefully entrusted with adequate training
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Demonstrate commitment to gender equality, equity, and diversity in all tasks.
- Collaborate with colleagues across programs to achieve NGOF’s mission.
- Participate in staff meetings, reflections, retreats, and organizational learning sessions.
- Khmer - Good
- English - Good
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, Computer Science, Media, Journalism, Development Studies, International Relations,, or a related field.
- Communications, media, or social media management for 1 year as a minimum
- Strong skills in graphic design, video editing, and content production.
- Experience managing websites, digital storytelling, and social media engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to draft clear and engaging communication materials (Khmer and English).
- Experience in NGO or advocacy-related communications is considered an asset.
- Creative, proactive, and able to work independently and in a team.
