Job Description

EWS-KT is a non-profit corporate foundation with unique ties to East-West Seed Group. Our mission is to improve the production and business skills of smallholder farmers, with the aim of enhancing their livelihoods and increasing the supply of safe-to-eat vegetables while simultaneously catalyzing the development of innovative agricultural-input markets.

Job Responsibilities & Duties
  • Strategy Development
  • Support the development and execution of HR strategies that support the overall business objectives of the country and ensure alignment with the Global HR strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Country Manager / BDM and Global HR Business Partner to design and implement HR policies and practices that reflect the unique challenges and opportunities of the market.
  • Support strategic priorities and initiatives, including talent development, organizational growth, and change management.
  • Advise Global HR Business Partner on HR strategies that are flexible and adaptable to the changing economic and social environment in the country.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the leadership team on workforce management strategies during crises and otherwise, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
  • Talent Acquisition, Development, and Management
  • Support end-to-end recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent aligned with EWS’s strategic objectives, including sourcing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Work closely with the Leadership team and align Global HR Business Partner in designing and implementing talent development programs, including training, coaching, and leadership development, to build a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external recruitment partners and agencies to support staffing needs, especially in hard-to-fill roles.
  • Organizational Development and Culture
  • Promote a positive and inclusive organizational culture that aligns with EWS Core values and supports employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Support the Country leadership and align Global HR Business Partner in conducting regular organizational assessments and implementing action plans to enhance employee satisfaction and performance.
  • Act as a culture ambassador, driving initiatives to improve team collaboration, ownership, and accountability.
  • Workforce Planning
  • Work closely with the Country Leadership team and align with Global HR Business Partner the workforce planning efforts with regional and global HR strategies.
  • Lead initiatives to upskill the workforce, ensuring the organization is agile and capable of meeting future challenges.
  • Participate in the annual Workforce planning in line with the Business plan to ensure optimum resources across functions.
  • Employee Relations and Performance Management
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances, ensuring fair treatment and compliance with local labour laws. All serious grievances and compliance issues will be escalated to the Global HR Business Partner.
  • Lead along with the County Leadership team to Implement group performance management processes that foster a high-performance culture and align with business goals.
  • Support managers and employees in setting clear, measurable objectives, conducting performance appraisals, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Advise and work closely with the Country Manager and leadership team on all matters related to employee engagement and motivation.
  • Rewards Management:
  • Oversee employee benefits programs, such as but not limited to medical and life insurances, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, etc., ensuring compliance with local laws and alignment with the company’s policies.
  • Support and guide line managers in their pay action recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Global Rewards team in assessing new and updated jobs in the country following the global job evaluation methodology.
  • Manage the Annual Compensation Planning activities in the country in alignment with the global guidelines and timeline.
  • Drive implementation of local and global recognition programs in the country.
  • Manage communication and education around the Rewards program to ensure employees understand the value of their compensation and benefits package.
  • Compliance and Legal Management:
  • Ensure all HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with the Country's labour laws and EWS Global HR policies.
  • Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of changes in labour laws and regulations to minimize legal risks and ensure compliance.
  • HR Operations, Reporting and Coordination
  • Accuracy and Timeliness of HRIS data in D365 and all reporting tools.
  • Oversee HR operations, including payroll, leave management, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Provide regular HR reports and updates to the Country Manager and Global HR Business Partner, highlighting key HR metrics, trends, and challenges.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between the Country HR team and the Global HR Business Partner to maintain consistency and alignment with global HR strategies.
  • Participate in regional HR meetings and initiatives, contributing insights and feedback based on the Country context.
  • Administrative Services
  • Facility and Office Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison with building management for maintenance, security, and facility-related issues.
  • Ensure the office environment is safe, functional, and conducive to productivity.
  • Fleet Management
  • Oversee the management of company vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
  • Coordinate with drivers and logistics teams for effective fleet utilization.
  • Vendor Management
  • Manage vendor relationships, including procurement, contract negotiations, and service quality monitoring.
  • Ensure timely payment processing in collaboration with finance and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Visa and Travel Booking Follow-up and Support
  • Coordinate with external travel agencies for domestic and international travel arrangements.
  • Facilitate visa processing and travel documentation for employees and visitors.
  • Cross-Functional Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of company-wide initiatives.
  • Serve as the point of contact for administrative support on multi- departmental projects.
Job Requirements
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent is required
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Master's Degree in or professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, HRCI, BSHRM) is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:General & Technical Skills
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in general HR Management and administrative roles, preferably within an international or regional organisation, with a minimum of 3 years in a management position.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency(Read,Write,Speak) in English and Khmer language is required
  • COE experience, in addition to the above, is an added advantage
  • Experience with HRIS platforms is a requirement (D-365 and Power BI)
  • Knowledgeable in local labour laws and regulations
  • Fluent written and oral communication is a requirement
