- Primary Teaching Assistant and Receptionist
- Classroom Support
- Assist the class teacher in preparing, resourcing, and delivering lessons.
- Support individuals and small groups of pupils with their learning, ensuring inclusion for all abilities.
- Help to manage classroom behaviour positively, following the school’s behaviour policy.
- Supervise children during transitions, breaks, lunch, and other duties as required.
- Provide support for children with additional needs, under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Assist with display work, classroom organisation, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Reception & Administrative Duties
- Act as the first point of contact at the Primary school reception, greeting parents, pupils, and visitors warmly and professionally.
- Manage phone calls, emails, and face-to-face enquiries efficiently and in line with safeguarding expectations.
- Ensure visitors are signed in/out and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Support the organisation of appointments, meetings, and events, liaising with staff and parents as needed.
- Assist with general administrative tasks (e.g. photocopying, filing, updating registers, maintaining records).
- Safeguarding & Compliance
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children at all times.
- Follow all school safeguarding policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL.
- Person Specification
- Essential
- Warm, approachable manner with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Proficiency in basic IT (Microsoft Office, email, database use).
- High standard of spoken and written English.
- Desirable
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role.
- Familiarity with international school environments.
- First aid training.
