- School Nurse
- Oversee the general medical needs of students and staff on a daily basis.
- Provide care for sick or injured students and staff until further care can be arranged, including emergency response as required.
- Manage the compiling and ongoing maintenance of medical files for all new and existing students, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Work with parents, carers, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs) for students with complex health needs or long-term medical conditions.
- Ensure all student allergy and medical information is up to date in school systems and effectively communicated to relevant staff, including catering.
- Liaise closely with the Head of Wellbeing, school counsellor, and other pastoral staff regarding students with mental health or emotional wellbeing concerns.
- Advise the Senior Leadership Team on emergency procedures, business continuity, and responses to outbreaks of communicable diseases or viruses.
- Organise, coordinate, and communicate with parents and staff regarding student vaccination programmes and school health screenings.
- Ensure the medical room and first aid kits throughout the school are well maintained, adequately stocked, and regularly checked for expiry dates.
- Administer medication and provide first aid in line with school policy, maintaining accurate records of all medicines dispensed and care provided.
- Support and advise staff to ensure effective first aid provision, the maintenance of medical records, and proper accident/incident reporting.
- Work with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to identify and act upon safeguarding concerns, raising and recording issues as required.
- Attend and prepare reports for termly Health and Safety Committee meetings, contributing to ongoing school risk management.
- Maintain strict medical confidentiality, ensuring all medical records are stored securely in accordance with school safeguarding and data protection policies.
- Promote and deliver health education initiatives for students, parents, and staff as required.
- Stay informed and act in accordance with relevant legislation and best practices in Cambodia and the UK, including health, safety, and safeguarding.
- Participate fully as a member of the school community, supporting events and activities as needed.
- Registered Nurse with appropriate qualification and registration (Cambodian or international equivalent).
- Minimum two years’ post-qualification experience; experience in a school, paediatric, or community setting preferred.
- Experience in A&E, minor injuries, urgent care, or similar environments desirable.
- Additional training or experience in managing Anaphylaxis, Asthma, and Diabetes.
- First aid and medication management skills.
- Computer literate; able to use MS Office (Word, Excel), and school information systems.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Patient, approachable, and caring individual, comfortable working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds (ages 2–18).
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with good cultural sensitivity.
- Team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
