We currently operate two hotels in Cambodia (Shinta Mani Angkor in Siem Reap and Shinta Mani Wild in the South Cardamom National Forest at Tmor Rung, two hours south of Phnom Penh) and one hotel in the Kingdom of Mustang, Nepal (Shinta Mani Mustang), in addition to future openings.
- Farm Supervisor
- Supervise and manage daily farm operations, including planting, harvesting, irrigation, composting, and livestock care (if applicable).
- Plan and implement seasonal planting schedules, crop rotations, and integrated farm designs following permaculture and agroecosystem principles.
- Oversee agroforestry activities, including the integration of trees and perennial crops to enhance soil health, biodiversity, and long-term productivity.
- Ensure proper maintenance of farm infrastructure, tools, and equipment to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Lead, train, and supervise farm staff, assigning responsibilities and promoting a culture of learning, teamwork, and sustainability.
- Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and support skills development in regenerative farming practices.
- Collaborate with the guest services team to design and lead interactive guest experiences such as farm tours, permaculture workshops, or hands-on activities.
- Act as a farm ambassador, educating guests and staff about sustainable agriculture, soil regeneration, and the role of agroecology in conservation.
- Coordinate with the culinary team to supply fresh, seasonal produce and ensure communication on availability and harvest schedules.
- Work with the sustainability team to implement composting, zero-waste practices, and other environmental initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including crop yields, resource use, soil health, pest management, and planting timelines.
- Support budget planning and ensure efficient resource use, procurement, and expenditure tracking.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to agricultural activities.
- Participate in budget development and assist with cost management.
- Assist with resort special events and activities as needed.
- Attend required trainings and stay informed on best practices in sustainable and regenerative agriculture.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to the resort’s grooming standards.
- Follow all resort policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field is required
- Three years of relevant experience working
- Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- CRITICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Agricultural Expertise-Strong knowledge of modern and traditional farming techniques, agroforestry and permaculture including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting. Ability to manage both crops and livestock (if applicable) to meet resort needs.
- Leadership and Team Management-Proven ability to lead, motivate, and supervise farm workers, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety standards. Strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills to address on-site challenges swiftly.
- Operational and Logistical Management-Proficiency in planning and executing daily farm operations, ensuring all activities align with resort goals and timelines.
- Customer-Focused Approach-Understanding of how farm operations integrate with the resort's guest experience, including farm tours, farm-to-table initiatives, and educational activities. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests during farm visits or events.
- Sustainability and Innovation-Commitment to implementing eco-friendly practices, including water conservation, composting, and organic farming methods.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability-Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues related to weather, pests, diseases, and equipment failures.
- Financial Acumen-Knowledge of budgeting and cost management for farm operations.
- Technical and Administrative Skills-Familiarity with farming tools, machinery, and maintenance schedules. Competence in record-keeping and reporting on farm operations, including production yields, labor schedules, and resource usage.
- Health and Safety Compliance-Strong understanding of occupational health and safety standards in farming.
- Communication and Collaboration-Excellent communication skills to liaise with resort management, staff, and external stakeholders
