The Asia Foundation is implementing the Ponlok Chomnes II: Data and Dialogue for Development in Cambodia Program between July 2023 and June 2027 with support from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The goal of Ponlok Chomnes II is that public policy decisions, based on evidence and informed by inclusive dialogue, are operationalised and become the norm in Cambodia.
- Ponlok Chomnes GEDSI Intern
- The Program Intern will assist the Ponlok Chomnes team to:
- Program Administrative and coordination tasks
- Arrange logistics for meetings and events including the schedule, venue, car request, and materials.
- Coordinate support for workshops, meetings, sharing sessions, and events with program partners and stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage invitation lists, draft, and send invitation letters.
- Prepare notes, minutes of meetings, or draft reports to assist in documenting meetings, workshops, and events.
- Data and Information Management
- Conduct news screening relevant to the GEDSI development by compiling and sharing the updates with the team.
- Compile the new government’s policies and update the Policy Inventory for website distribution.
- Update and maintain contact information of GEDSI experts in the research community in Cambodia
- Program Support
- Provide the translation support as requested.
- Support the Senior GEDSI Officer in implementing the GEDSI Plan and tracking its progress.
- Assist in preparation of GEDSI Consortium semi-annual meetings and reports.
- Support the Senior GEDSI Officer in coordinating with the SheThinks Network Secretariat to support the network and track its progress.
- Provide the additional support to the program team as needed.
- The intern should meet the following criteria:
- Be a third or fourth-year university student or a fresh undergraduate from the university in the field of law, social science, international relations, policy/development studies, or other related fields;
- Have knowledge and a strong desire to learn about GEDSI in the development sector;
- Have a good understanding and interest in local and regional policies and development issues;
- Good interpersonal skills
- Openness to feedback and continuous learning
- Able to work with people from various backgrounds, including marginalised communities.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure and work with various people on a multi-cultural team; and
- Have a good command of English and Khmer languages.
- Being from a marginalised group is considered an asset.
