Wathnakpheap (WP) is a local Cambodian NGO which was localised from International NGO, SKIP (Pestalozzi Children Village’s Foundation) and was registered with the Government since 1997. Wathnakpheap has more 20 years extensive experience working with a variety of partners, including local NGOs, international NGOs, and private companies, and for a wide range of donors, including government agencies, multilateral organisations and corporate foundations. WP has been implementing projects for 6 programs areas such as 1) Community Led Child Nutrition; 2) Education for better life; 3) Good Governance and Civic Engagement; 4) Resilient Livelihood; 5) Women Entrepreneurship and 6) Sustainable institution.
WP has been granted a 35 months project entitled “Zero Child Early Marriage Community Project” (ZIP project), funded by Plan International Cambodia.
- S/he collaborates with the Provincial Office of Education, Youth and Sport (PoEYS), District Office of Education, Youth and Sport (DoEYS) to organize and deliver trainings related-topics (SRHR, counselling room, peer-to-peer education), meetings, workshops and other activities under education sector.
- S/he supports schools and school management committees (SMCs) to plan and conduct education awareness campaigns in target schools and communities.
- S/he works in collaboration with target lower secondary schools in Stung Treng and Ratanakiri Provinces to organize and implement remedial classes, learning clubs, career fairs as well as the linkage-activities with Health Centers (HCs)
- S/he facilitate to establishes and supports youth-led learning clubs for lower secondary school students to promote learning, engagement, and life skills development.
- S/he collaborates with PoEYS, HCs, and teachers to establish and operationalize Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) rooms or corners in selected schools.
- S/he supports the delivery of enhanced life skills education for lower secondary school students in target schools.
- S/he will collaborate with local authority conduct community forum to shift norm relates harmful practice. Project will collaborate with CCWC to organize forums
- S/he will collaborate with local authority conduct male-dialogues sessions with adolescents’ boys and male-parents to challenges negative social norm relates child early marriage, sexual reproductive and rights; adolescent girls’ right to protection.
- S/he will collaborate with local authority conduct inter-generation dialogues with local leaders, parents.
- S/he facilitate Students Council/CAY Club members regularly join meeting with CCWC’s; WCCC’s meeting for sharing their concerned; include child early force married.
- S/he conducts regular field follow-up visits to monitor project activities, document results, and capture lessons learned from implementation.
- S/he provides ongoing support to improve school retention and participation of vulnerable students, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- S/he ensures timely and quality implementation of project activities in accordance with approved work plans and guidance from the TL.
- S/he coordinates with the TL for technical inputs, training delivery, and implementation support as required.
- S/he conducts regular field follow-up visits to monitor activities, document progress, and capture lessons learned.
- S/he prepares and submits weekly and monthly activity updates and reports to TL.
- S/he supports data collection, monitoring of project progress, and timely reporting in collaboration with the M&E Officer.
- S/he assists the TL in identifying gaps in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting and contributes to improving tracking tools and data quality.
- S/he supports the use of project tracking tools and ensures timely reporting of key changes and updates from the field.
- English - Good is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Community Development or a related field
- Experience working in the education sector, particularly in lower secondary education and/or programmes related to the prevention of child, early, and forced marriage for 2 years as a minimum
- Knowledge of children and women rights
- Proven experience in implementing community-based education interventions and working with schools, teachers, and local authorities.
- Proven ability in community mobilization, facilitation, and engagement, with experience working closely with rural and indigenous communities.
- Strong skills in knowledge sharing and capacity building, with the ability to effectively transfer knowledge and skills to community members and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Internet, and email.
- Ability to ride a motorbike on difficult rural roads.
- Good understanding of sextual reproductive health and right (SRHR), vocational orientation program of the MoEYS.
- Fluency in local languages; good command of English is an advantage.
- Demonstrated with strong communication and good teamwork
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse community groups.
- Willing to work in the project intervention area and closely with local communities.
- Strong commitment, patience, and willingness to work in challenging field conditions.
