Job Description

We are looking for qualified candidate to fill for the position below.

Job Responsibilities & Duties
  • Research and Development (RD)
  • Conduct research to support:
  • Curriculum development and improvement
  • Teaching and learning innovation
  • Assessment design and practices
  • Analyse internal and external data to identify:
  • Student performance trends
  • Gaps in curriculum and instruction
  • Opportunities for system improvement
  • Develop and refine:
  • Academic frameworks and guidelines
  • Teaching and learning tools
  • Assessment models and structures
  • Professional Development and Strategic Alignment
  • Support the design and implementation of professional development programmes for teachers and staff
  • Work with Heads of Department and school leaders to strengthen:
  • Teaching quality
  • Assessment practices
  • Classroom implementation of AYLA standards
  • Translate research findings into practical training, coaching, and guidance
  • Support the implementation of AYLA strategic direction and priorities across campuses
  • Ensure that school practices align with organisational goals and future direction
  • Benchmark AYLA practices against international standards and best practices
  • Pilot and evaluate new initiatives before full implementation
  • System Design and Implementation (MEAL)
  • Develop and continuously improve MEAL systems, tools, and frameworks
  • Ensure alignment of all school practices with:
  • AYLA Academic Framework
  • Curriculum standards
  • Assessment policies and guidelines
  • Assist in Designing and strengthen tools such as:
  • School evaluation checklists
  • Lesson observation forms
  • Assessment tracking and moderation systems
  • Data collection and reporting templates
  • Survey instruments
  • Support implementation of:
  • Quality Teaching Rounds (QTR)
  • Mentoring systems and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
  • Monitoring and Quality Assurance
  • Manage and oversee quality control and quality assurance systems across all campuses
  • Work closely with head of department and randomly conduct regular school monitoring visits (planned and unannounced)
  • Evaluate:
  • Teaching quality (explicit instruction, I Do-We Do-You Do, CPA approach)
  • Curriculum implementation and lesson alignment
  • Classroom environment and student engagement
  • Assessment practices and reporting systems
  • Work directly with Heads of Department and Principals to:
  • Ensure correct implementation of AYLA standards
  • Provide professional guidance and support
  • Ensure compliance with AYLA standards, policies, and expectations
  • Accountability (A)
  • Ensure schools are accountable to AYLA standards and improvement expectations
  • Track and follow up on:
  • School improvement plans
  • Monitoring findings and action points
  • Implementation of recommendations
  • Maintain structured and accurate documentation of:
  • School performance
  • Monitoring activities
  • Follow-up progress
  • Provide regular accountability reports to the Director of MEAL and Management Team
  • Ensure consistency and fairness in evaluation across all campuses
  • Support school leaders in taking ownership of improvement actions
  • Assessment Oversight (A)
  • Assessment Design and Alignment
  • Review and ensure alignment of assessments with:
  • Learning outcomes
  • Curriculum standards
  • AYLA assessment framework and stndard across quality teaching and learning and other standard such as HR and Operations (SOP)
  • Ensure balanced use of formative and summative assessments
  • Monitor progression and appropriate level of difficulty
  • Assessment Implementation
  • Monitor adherence to:
  • Assessment schedules (Quarter and Semester examinations)
  • Examination procedures and integrity standards
  • Ensure consistency in:
  • Test administration
  • Marking and grading practices
  • Use of rubrics
  • Moderation and Quality Assurance (Quality Teaching, Learning and Operations includeing HR, Admin and Related approved SOPs)
  • Lead and support:
  • Pre-assessment moderation
  • Post-assessment moderation
  • Ensure fairness, reliability, and standardisation across campuses and departments
  • Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting
  • Strengthen school capacity in data management systems to ensure:
  • Accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data
  • Proper use of data tracking tools
  • Analyse student performance and school data to identify:
  • Trends and patterns
  • Learning gaps
  • Areas of strength
  • Support schools in:
  • Data-driven instruction
  • Intervention and extension planning
  • Improve and standardise reporting systems
  • Feedback and Improvement
  • Provide clear, structured, and evidence-based feedback
  • Recommend improvements in:
  • Assessment practices
  • Teaching strategies
  • Data use and reporting
  • Follow up to ensure implementation
  • Evaluation and Reporting
  • Prepare and submit:
  • Monthly dashboards
  • Term and semester evaluation reports
  • School performance reports with recommendations
  • Ensure reports are:
  • Accurate, timely, and evidence-based
  • Support school leaders in understanding and using reports effectively
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with:
  • School Principals and Parents (suvey and so on)
  • Heads of Department
  • Teachers and relevant staff
  • Facilitate discussions on:
  • Monitoring findings
  • Research insights
  • Improvement strategies
  • Collaborate with Central Office departments
  • Learning and Continuous Improvement
  • Support PLCs, mentoring, and professional development
  • Provide guidance on:
  • Teaching quality improvement via head of department (work closely with curriculum review director)
  • Assessment and moderation practices
  • Effective use of data
  • Document and share best practices
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
  • Master's Degree is preferred
Work History:
  • Experience for 3 to 5 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:General & Technical Skills
  • Experience in teaching, academic leadership, PD, or evaluation, MEAL and Research
  • Strong understanding of data and reporting systems
  • Curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy expertise or was a teacher
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Data management and reporting capability
  • Strong communication and coaching ability
  • Ability to support school leaders and drive improvement
  • Ensure all work is evidence-based, objective, and consistent
  • Ensure correct implementation of AYLA standards
  • Strengthen effective use of data and reporting systems
  • Contribute to measurable school improvement
